Ways to create a digital whiteboard (Updated 9/20/12)

1)  Tablet PC (*Tablet PC I'm using (HP TouchSmart tm2) is discontinued)

Pro: 
Can use as a full on Laptop 
Can use Windows Journal that comes with Windows 7 to use it was a white board (Does not need to purchase additional software)
Since Windows Journal is software from Microsoft, can be easily shared and edited with computers with Windows 7
Microsoft office is installed Can annotate right on to Microsoft Word, power point with inking 
Can capture the screen and uaplod to Youtube


Con:
Expensive
Needs to be stationary

$1000~2400 + projector

2)  New Ipad (*Need ipad 2 or New ipad to mirror)

    $499 (Wi-Fi, 16G)

To mirror to projector wirelessly using AirPlay
    
Option 1 (Software) 
(*Need a desktop or laptop connected to a projector)

    or

Option 2 (Hardware)
(*Need a projector with HDMI input or HDML to VGA adapter ($50)

Pro: 
Can walk around the classroom as a white board with Apps that is $1 (One i use is called Notability ($.99))
Many educational apps. to choose from
Can capture screen and upload to internet using apps like ShowMe, ScreenChomps, Educreations

Con:
To use the softwares like AirServer or Reflecton, must have a desktop or laptop connected to a projector)
     (Note: the mirror image is compressed which means may look not as sharp also *AirServer for PC does not stream audio)
Must be connected wirelessly within same network to use it wirelessly which means must have wireless router
Notes that are taken with writing app is not as easily edited and/or shared  

To use the Apple TV. the projector needs to have HDMI input... If it dosn't must purchase HDMI to VGA adapter ($50)
Must not drop the Ipad....

Must look that the projection to write (the tablet itself doesn't have screen)
